About the Founder and the Brand

They say you should put on your own oxygen mask first before helping others. In 2017, I left Lebanon and moved to Freiburg, with no intention of looking back. But after seven years working as a Renewable Energy Engineer and fighting climate change, my heart awakened for my family and my homeland. I wanted to help Lebanon, to make it known for its high-quality olive oil, and give back to the farmers.

The concept of "Honeydew" was inspired in 2023, dedicating all my free time to bringing the finest gourmet, fair trade Mediterranean products to your table. My mission is to support sustainable farming and share the rich, authentic taste of Lebanon with the world.

A year ago, it seemed almost impossible to bring hand-harvested Lebanese olive oil to Germany, given the challenges since COVID, the port explosion, and regional conflicts.

Thanks to wonderful support in Lebanon and Germany, and despite sleepless nights and bureaucracy to obtain all licenses, I am proud to say that cold-pressed, seasonally fresh, premium extra virgin olive oil from Lebanon is now available throughout Germany.

And this is just the beginning...

Why the name "Honeydew"?

My wife Claudia is my backbone in life, and her support has been essential in making "Honeydew" a reality. While we were brainstorming the perfect name to represent our brand and story, the inspiration came when Claudia was searching for the ideal green shade that symbolizes authentic Lebanese olive oil. She discovered a shade called "honeydew." We both agreed it was the perfect name, as it evokes our vision of morning Mediterranean dew on olives and olive trees, enriching them with their intense, fruity flavor.
